Winter Skin Care Tips – The Routine
Winter brings a light glow to your cheeks, but it comes with an uncomfortable dryness, and sometimes, nasty breakouts. It’s important to routinely assess the products you use, and pick those that allow your skin to replenish the lost moisture.
What are the benefits of Moisturizing
Your regular moisturiser may have worked fine in the summer, but winter skin needs a little extra winter care. Don’t forget to moisturise your hands as well, especially in cold, dry weather with a winter moisturizer. You can even add some essential oils to your bath water, not only for their soothing effects, but also to deposit good oils into your skin. Just make sure the water is lukewarm, as hot water strips the oils right off.
Benefits of face cleansers
Use a facial cleanser that doesn’t wash away the oils from your face, and look for creams that have good, non-clogging oils like avocado oil, mineral oil, primrose oil, or almond oil. Also avoid using harsh peels that can dry your face. Moisturising masks can help give that extra boost.
Sunscreens in Winter
Is it a must? Even though the winter sun is far more gentle, you are still exposed to its harmful rays, so slather on the sunscreen before you leave the house, and reapply as needed.
Dry Winter Skin
Heating systems dry out the air, so consider installing a humidifier in your home, particularly in your bedroom, to put moisture back into the air and help prevent your skin from drying out
Skin Hydration
Does drinking water help? Drinking water not only helps your body, but also your skin to stay young. Don’t skimp on water, even though you may not be as thirsty, and you will see and feel the effects.
